Pro Bono Nonprofit Consulting with The Sunflower Project

The Sunflower Project helps nonprofits bloom!

Are you a small but mighty nonprofit operating on heart and grit — but stretched thin by resources, strategy, and messaging? The Sunflower Project provides free consulting to one organization each quarter, offering 60 hours of hands-on marketing and organizational development support.

How Pro Bono Nonprofit Consulting Works: The Sunflower Project Process

Nonprofits face many challenges: limited staff, shifting strategies, and incomplete messaging that fails to connect. This free nonprofit consulting program is specifically designed for small, mission-driven organizations in Minnesota and beyond who need strategic support but face budget constraints. With The Sunflower Project, you gain direct access to experienced consulting in organizational development, brand voice, strategic planning, and marketing execution—all tailored to your unique needs and budget realities.

What’s included:

  • A full reevaluation of your mission, vision, and program offerings.

  • Articulation of your brand voice, key messages, and tagline.

  • Collaborative decision-making on how to use the remaining time: define a color palette and brand visuals, update website, create outreach materials (flyer, brochure, social), develop a new revenue stream, or launch or expand your sponsorship or donor program.

  • A clear timeline and measurable milestones so you see progress.

“Kristin is someone that I like working with because she makes me and my team feel heard and valued. As artists, we sometimes don't feel the business world really acknowledges or respects our ideas. So, I really appreciate her expertise, efforts, and grace in working with us.”
